About All American Story Poles

All American Story Poles prepares story pole plans and installs full-scale building outlines for California design review. With 15+ years of experience, we support architects, property owners, builders and development teams on residential and commercial projects. We also coordinate surveyor certification and project notice signs when the reviewing authority requires them.

What We Do

Start with the project address, plan set and review deadline. We will identify the requested services and provide a project-specific quote. See our services or check the service areas page.

Story pole plans

We prepare story pole, silhouette, staking or temporary-framing plans from the project drawings and the reviewing authority's published requirements.

Story pole installation

We install the poles, lines, flagging or netting shown on the accepted plan and included in the written scope.

Story pole certification

When certification is required, we coordinate with a licensed land surveyor or work with the project's surveyor. The surveyor issues the certification.

Project signs

We can prepare and place a project notice sign when it is required by the city, county, HOA or other reviewing body.

Story Pole Work Built Around the Accepted Plan

Where We Work in California

All American Story Poles serves projects in selected Northern and Southern California communities. Availability depends on the project address, site access, schedule and requested scope. Review the service-area directory or send the project address for confirmation.

The City of Malibu Planning Division includes All American Story Poles on its published Story Pole Providers handout. The City states that the names are provided for convenience, are not required choices and are not recommendations.

Who We Help and How We Work

We work with architects, residential designers, property owners, builders, developers and HOA teams. Each project begins with the address and current drawings. We then define the work in writing so the plan, installation, certification responsibility, sign requirements and schedule are clear before field work begins.

Send Your Project Details

Send your plan set, project address, and hearing or submittal date.

Requirements and Written Quote

We review the available requirements and drawings, identify open questions and provide a written project scope and quote.

Story Pole Plan Preparation

We prepare the story pole plan when included, or install from a plan accepted by the reviewing authority.

Installation and Photo Documentation

We install the approved field outline and provide photographs when they are required or included in the scope.

Surveyor Certification

A licensed land surveyor inspects or verifies the installation when certification is required. We coordinate the visit or work with the project’s surveyor.

Removal When Authorized

Removal timing follows the reviewing authority’s instructions and the written project scope. Do not remove story poles until the assigned reviewer confirms they are no longer needed.
